什么时候 identity 是

把脸贴上去
不算身份层。

  • Sticker face / 卡通贴纸脸——粘贴 ≠ 融入。Hold-it-Together v1、Build-a-Boyfriend 早期都被否过
  • Avatar 只显示在 HUD 角落——不进游戏画面 = 不是身份
  • "你的名字"作为打字气泡——文字层 ≠ 视觉层
  • 真融入:img2img / 烧字进画面 / Voxel 角色风格化 / 当 NPC / 当 boss

关键 test:关掉你的头像,游戏还成立吗? 能成立 = identity 层只是装饰,不算真做了。

  • Sticker face / cartoon decals — paste ≠ fold-in. Hold-it-Together v1 and early Build-a-Boyfriend both got rejected here
  • Avatar only in the HUD corner — if it's not in the playfield, it's not identity
  • Your name as a text bubble — text layer ≠ visual layer
  • Real fold-in: img2img / baked-into-picture / voxel restyled to you / cast as NPC / cast as boss

Litmus: turn off the user's avatar — does the game still hold up? If yes, identity was decoration, not the design.

这一张是把"身份层"和"装饰品"分开的关键测试。

讲 Hold-it-Together 这例:v1 是 Reigns 滑卡 + 卡通脸贴纸,玩家原话"看不下去"——根因 = 卡通脸是装饰,不是真融入。改成堆叠物理塔(图里这版)之后玩家说好玩——但 identity 其实退到抽象层了("你的内心崩塌",没有具象 face)。

所以这不是说"必须有脸",而是说不要假装有 identity。要么真做要么不做。

This slide separates "identity layer" from "decoration." Walk through Hold-it-Together: v1 was Reigns + cartoon sticker face — player verdict "can't watch this." Root cause: sticker is decoration, not real fold-in. v2 (stacked stress tower in matter-js) plays well — but identity has receded to abstract ("your inner state collapsing"), no concrete face anywhere.

So the rule isn't "you must have a face." It's don't fake the identity layer. Either commit to it or remove it.
